Southlake City Council gave the green light for The Hills Church, located at 2501 W. Southlake Blvd., Southlake, to undergo renovations and expansions during its Feb. 4 meeting. The church is estimating an approximate 16,760-square-foot, two-story expansion of its current facility, according to the applicant. In addition, the seating capacity in the worship center will be expanded to accommodate about 550 seats.

The additional spaces will be designed for fellowship and gathering areas with a coffee bar, a catering area, new restrooms to service the expanded worship center, additional adult classrooms and a children’s play area, according to meeting documents.

Construction is slated to begin in mid-May, per meeting documents. Construction will take place in phases to allow the church to maintain operations through most of the construction period.
