Thirty-nine restaurants, located in Tarrant and Denton counties, will participate in the DFW Restaurant Week, according to a news release from Lena Pope. The project kicks off with preview weekend on Aug. 1-4, followed by the “main week” on Aug. 5-11, with an optional extension lasting until Sept. 1. This year marks the 28th anniversary of DFW Restaurant Week.
Based in Fort Worth, Lena Pope’s programming focuses on prevention and early intervention services that support child development and improve behavioral and mental health, with the organization investing in early education, mental health services and behavioral interventions early in a child’s development.
The background
Participating restaurants in this effort will offer three-course prix fixe dinners for $49 or $59, with some offering two-course lunch or brunch menus for $29, the release states. For each meal purchased at a Tarrant-area participating restaurant, 20% will be donated back to Fort Worth-based nonprofit Lena Pope, the release states.
Through DFW Restaurant Week, a portion of the meal price is donated to the North Texas Food Bank or Lena Pope. Over the past 28 years, DFW Restaurant Week has raised more than $12 million in donations for its charity partners.
