The Grapevine-Colleyville ISD board of trustees unanimously approved Lindsey Fuentes as the district’s new executive director of special services during their regular meeting Dec. 16.

The backstory

According to a district news release, Fuentes began her 22-year education career as an ESL teacher in Dallas ISD. Following her tenure in Dallas ISD, she served in the following positions:
  • Educational diagnostician in DeSoto ISD
  • Special education coordinator in Irving ISD
  • Assistant director, director and executive director of special services in College Station ISD
What they’re saying
  • “From her time as a teacher to leading a district in special services, Lindsey has garnered a variety of experiences that enhance her leadership,” Superintendent Brad Schnautz said. “We look forward to the valuable contributions she will make in shaping a brighter future for our students and community.”
  • “I'm excited to be joining the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD community,” Fuentes said. “I’m dedicated to ensuring all students are afforded the best possible conditions to reach their full potential, and I look forward to working closely with the dedicated staff, parents and community members to create an environment where every student can thrive.”
According to the news release, Fuentes earned the following degrees in education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Education from Baylor University
  • Master of Science in Special Education from Texas A&M Commerce
  • Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas at Dallas
She will begin her new role in January, according to the news release.
