GCISD released a statement on its website announcing that all schools and district facilities will be closed and that students will not be expected to participate in online learning.
In a post on Twitter shared with students and parents as well as displayed on the district’s website, CISD also announced school closures. According to the post, evening and after-school activities will be canceled for Feb. 2, and school will be canceled Feb. 3-4.

The National Weather Service has placed the Dallas-Fort Worth area under a winter storm watch beginning at 6 p.m. Feb. 2. Rain is expected to begin midday Feb. 2 and transition to sleet and then snow by Feb. 3, National Weather Service meteorologist Allison Prater said.
