Waffle Way owner Natasha Hawkins-Thompson announced the restaurant will close Nov. 2 in a Facebook post from Oct. 1.

She cited the rise in the cost to operate and dwindling business.

The restaurant opened in Grapevine since 1987. Waffle Way serves waffles, hot cakes, omelets and other breakfast items. The restaurant also offers lunch items, such as a hot beef sandwich, a patty melt, a chef's salad and Frito chili pie.

The business had a grand reopening after renovations in Nov. 2022, but sustained damage in a tornado that hit Grapevine in December 2022. It repaired broken windows and the the damaged awning, reopening a week later.
