When two tornadoes rolled through Grapevine on Dec. 13, local restaurant Waffle Way sustained damage to its building. Owner Natasha Hawkins-Thompson said the restaurant had busted windows; the building’s awning was ripped off; and its street sign was broken.

Waffle Way opened a week later Dec. 19 and continues to be open every day from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Hawkins-Thompson said she was unsure when renovations would be completed. The restaurant, which opened in 1987, held a regrand opening Nov. 15 following renovations and updates. Waffle Way is located in Grapevine at 1206 W. Northwest Hwy. 817-481-3908. https://waffleway.com
