The new event space at Grapevine Golf Course, called the Grapevine Fairway Events Center, is nearing completion.

The Grapevine CVB announced the name in a May 5 news release. Construction is still underway ahead of opening this summer, said Elizabeth Schrack, Grapevine CVB director of communication.

What’s happening

Demolition started on the existing concourse in October for the $4.72 million project and will include an open-view concept for an event center that overlooks the course, according to previous reporting.

The meeting venue at 3800 Fairway Drive will feature indoor space at Fairway Hall and outdoor meeting space on the Byron Pavilion that can host weddings, receptions, tournaments and meetings, according to a news release.

What they’re saying

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Grapevine Fairway Events Center, featuring two elegant, reimagined venues where guests can create lasting memories,” Grapevine CVB Executive Director Paul W. McCallum said. “This hilltop location has breathtaking views that overlook the Grapevine Golf Course, Cowboys Golf Club and Denton Creek. It’s truly an oasis in the metroplex.”

The background

Schrack said the concourse project was made possible by hotel occupancy taxes from the city’s 20 hotels. According to data from Travel Texas, a department within the Economic Development and Tourism Office, tax revenues generated by tourism dollars for both local and state tax receipts within Grapevine rose nearly 60% over the last decade.
