Some local churches, synagogues and mosques have opted to cancel their in-person services out of concern for the novel coronavirus.

It is not clear when many of these services will resume.

Gateway Church, a multi-campus church with six locations across the Dallas, Fort Worth area, including a location in Southlake, is canceling all in-person gatherings. The sermon for this upcoming Sunday will be recorded and streamed online throughout the weekend.

Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville has canceled all its events and services until further notice. Its business office will remain open by appointment only.

The Islamic Center of Southlake is also suspending all its community programs, including congregational prayers, until further notice. Updates will be posted to the center’s website.

A sign was posted on the door of White’s United Methodist Church in Southlake announcing the church’s closure but encouraged the congregation to stream the service online. The sign said the church staff expects to reopen the facility March 30.
