The details
The bank held an anniversary celebration Feb. 14 and Southlake Mayor Shawn McCaskill presented the business with a certificate.
Wayne Lee, the bank's founder and chairman, said it was the first bank to open in Southlake. At its inception, it was named Texas National Bank of Southlake and located at 100 W. SH 114.
Shelby Bruhn, the president of the Southlake branch, said the bank started in a single-wide trailer before breaking ground on a new building in 1990.
“Now our goal was first of all, to serve this community, but we wanted excellence,” Lee said. “We decided early on that one of the first things we wanted to be sure our employees did was to be the friendliest bank anywhere in the area.”
What else?
A merger with Abilene-based First Financial happened in 2000 and the bank moved to current location about 22 years ago, Lee said.
Colleyville-based Bubbles & Marquee provided decorations while Keller-based Devivo Bros. Eatery catered the celebration, according to the bank's Facebook page.
