Road work that could cause traffic delays is being done near the intersection of Preston Road and Warren Parkway.

The details

Frisco transportation staff are working to improve capacity at the intersection, according to a notice from the city. A second left turn lane and a third through lane are being added to Warren in the westbound direction.

A northbound right turn lane is also being added on Preston into Prestmont Place.

All of this will be accomplished by shifting outside and median curbs farther out to make room for the new lanes.

Additional improvements include:
  • Traffic signal
  • Lane striping
  • Water line installation
  • Drainage
Zooming in

Construction began in January but now the project will cause lane closures near the intersection. Drivers should expect these closures between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Those on the road are urged to slow down and use caution in the work zone, according to the city notice.

The project is expected to be completed later this year but rain could impact this timeline as some work requires specific temperatures and dry weather.
