Anyone interested in learning more about the Frisco Center for the Arts project can attend two upcoming informational open house opportunities.

The details

The two open houses, held from 4:30-6:30pm March 10-11 inside the Public Library, will include members of the Frisco Center for the Arts project team to answer any questions about the multimillion-dollar performing arts facility, according to a March 4 city news release.

The open houses are not restricted to Frisco residents, according to the release. Frisco business owners, residents, representatives of arts organizations and any regionally-interested community members are also invited to attend.

The open houses will be held in a second-floor meeting room of the library, located at 8000 Dallas Parkway.

In case you missed it

The Frisco Center for the Arts is a shared city of Frisco-Prosper ISD project that, if approved, would add a venue for touring Broadway shows and local school or community performances to the city.

The facility is expected to cost around $300 million-$340 million. PISD signed a non-binding letter of intent with the city to contribute $100 million in October.

Broadway Across America and Broadway Dallas also signed a letter of intent in October that they would create a Broadway Frisco program to bring shows to the new space.

Two ballot items related to the city’s portion of funding the Frisco Center for the Arts will appear on Frisco voters’ ballots during the May 3 election, asking them to approve using up to $160 million of the Frisco Economic Development Corporation’s money for the project.

Frisco City Council members approved placing the propositions on the ballot during a Feb. 4 meeting.
