Several school zones in Frisco will be slightly different in the coming school year.

Frisco City Council approved the adjusted school zones July 2. The updates include adding, modifying or removing the locations and times the reduced speed is applied across the city.

Updates to school zones are done annually. The updates for the new school year account for two Prosper ISD schools opening, new road construction and new student walking patterns, according to the agenda.

Several notable changes include:
  • Adding a school zone on Lone Star Ranch Parkway
  • Adding a zone on College Parkway
  • Removing zones around the FISD Student Opportunity Center and modifying the school zone time on nearby Maple Street
