Frisco introduces Plaza Live! musical series in Rail District

The city of Frisco recently introduced Plaza Live!, a new music and community event series hosted at the new Fourth Street Plaza in Frisco’s Rail District. 

What to know

Hosted every first and third Wednesday of the month from 5-7 p.m., Plaza Live! will feature live acoustic and local musical performances and lawn games starting Sept. 16. 

The recurring event’s lineup features artists partnered with Melody of Hope, a Frisco-based nonprofit connecting local live musicians with local charities, community events and businesses. City documents show the recurring performances would only be canceled in case of inclement weather. 

Frisco Cultural Affairs Manager Michelle Norris said that for the Oct. 16 Plaza Live! showing, the city is planning an expanded performance later in the evening, with hopes for “a much larger crowd.” 

One more thing

The Fourth Street Plaza has already hosted multiple morning yoga events ahead of its Oct. 13 opening date. The project is the last major milestone for Frisco’s Rail District. 

Lawn chairs and blankets are permitted at outdoor performances in the plaza, according to Play Frisco. A full schedule of artists slated to perform at Plaza Live! is coming soon, according to city documents.
