Residents have multiple opportunities to weigh in on for Frisco’s proposed Performing Arts Center project.

Two-minute impact

An interactive survey for residents to offer input related to a city-owned performing arts center is now open, according to a city news release. The survey is designed to share plans and concepts as well as solicit feedback.

Residents can access the survey here until it closes on May 26.

City staff and representatives from Theatre Project Consultants Inc. and Keen Independent Research will also host three open houses—two in person and one virtual—as additional educational and feedback opportunities.

The first open house will be for representatives from local arts organizations only, according to the release. The other two are open to anyone in the Frisco community.

Here is the open house schedule:
  • May 15 arts representatives meeting: 2-4:30 p.m.
  • May 15 community meeting: 5:30-8 p.m.
  • May 29 virtual meeting: 5:30-7 p.m.
Residents can register for the virtual Zoom meeting here.

Both of the in-person meetings will be held inside Room L120 on the first floor of Frisco’s George A. Purefoy Municipal Center located at 6101 Frisco Square Blvd., according to the release.

Some context

Representatives from Theatre Project Consultants Inc. and Keen Independent Research gave a presentation on the performing arts complex nearly a year ago during a Frisco City Council summer 2023 work session meeting.

Performing arts center plans presented at the meeting included:
  • A large hall for Broadway shows and major events
  • Community hall for regional or local arts performances
  • Flexible performance space for events and shows
  • Connected outdoor spaces
  • Social club model for private member experience
Council members later approved an 18-month planning process, which included touring similar venues across the country and refining a business plan, in September.
  • September-March: similar-size club and venue visits, site analysis, concept design and renderings, facilitating potential Broadway partnerships, and business plan refinement
  • February-July: community engagement and check-ins
  • July-March 2025: competition, costing and a final plan presentation
Going forward

Frisco City Council members are expected to receive a formal project update sometime in late June.

In the meantime, residents can stay updated on any project updates through a specialized performing arts center project website.
