Kaleidoscope Park will have its grand opening Oct. 5-6 from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. and feature different activities throughout the two days.

What’s happening?

This free event will include morning fitness classes, a traditional farmers market, a petting zoo, face painting, and arts and crafts, according to an Aug. 27 news release from the Kaleidoscope Park Foundation. An assortment of food vendors will be available as well.

On Oct. 5, a concert with the Emerald City All-Stars will end the night, and on Oct. 6, members of the Plano Symphony Orchestra will perform.

At 11 a.m. on Oct. 5, Jackson will be joined by special guest Craig Hall; Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney; park board chair Florence Shapiro; Wayne White, Communities Foundation of Texas president and CEO; and featured artist Janet Echelman for the park's official ribbon-cutting.

The Kaleidoscope Park Foundation will host a sunset and soiree Oct. 4 for those who have sponsored and funded the development of the world-class art and horticultural destination, according to an Aug. 7 news release from Kaleidoscope Park Foundation.


Tickets for the event cost $150 per person and allow the guests a first look of the park and the public art piece Butterfly Rest Stop by Janet Echelman. Guests can also enjoy food and beverages from various businesses.

The evening's program will take place on the Art Lawn with stage and sound provided by Big D Party Rentals.

More details

The 6-acre park is currently being built near Dallas North Tollway at Warren Parkway and will be home to year-round public programming, including films, musical and dance performances, and health and recreational activities.
