This year, there are new school zones, according to a city of Frisco news release. Drivers should stay alert and reduce their speed to 20 mph when entering a school zone. Using a cell phone while driving in a school zone is prohibited unless you're using hands-free technology, according to the release.
There are new school zone in Frisco including:
- In front of Minett Elementary on Rockhill Parkway near Peyton Abbey Drive
- Newman Elementary on Panther Creek Parkway near Bohannon Drive
- Sem Elementary on Eldorado Parkway near Granbury Drive
- Lebanon Trail High School and the CTE Center on Wade Boulevard near Autumnwood Drive
The fall and spring semesters are similar in length with only four more instructional days in the spring semester.
Here are some important dates to note:
- First day of school: Aug. 13
- Fall break: Oct. 10, 13-14
- Thanksgiving break: Nov. 24-28
- Winter break: Dec. 22-Jan. 5, 2026
- Spring break: March 16-20, 2026
- Last day of school: May 22, 2026
