The district’s board of trustees approved three different contracts regarding construction during a Dec. 9 meeting. The projects are needed after storms in 2022 damaged the building, according to district documents.
The details
Two of the approved contracts included Centennial High, Trent Middle, Boal Elementary, Corbell Elementary, Kuykendall Stadium Complex, Taylor Elementary, Wakeland High, Nelson Middle and Independence High.
The repairs and replacements for the two contracts will cost a little over $10.13 million with a contingency allowance, according to district documents. The projects were awarded to ARMKO Industries, a Flower Mound-based architectural and engineering firm.
Projects include repairing or replacing portions of the building roofs, installing roof insulation and roof access ladders.
The third contract approved included a final payment for repairs made at Staley Middle School for the 2022 storm-related repairs. The contract sum was decreased by $75,000 to credit the remaining unused contingency. The total project cost was $2.72 million, according to district documents.
