The first day of school for Frisco ISD students is Aug. 12.

What you need to know

Parents and guardians are responsible for getting their children to and from school if they do not meet the eligibility criteria for bus service.

Students who live 2 miles or farther from their assigned campus can take the bus to school, with some exceptions. Parents can find information on their students' bus routes here and through the district’s My Ride K-12 website.

School hours will be unchanged from the 2023-24 school year:
  • 7:45 a.m-3:05 p.m. for elementary schools
  • 8:25 a.m.-3:45 p.m. for middle schools (including Wortham Intermediate)
  • 9 a.m.-4:25 p.m. for high schools

In case you missed it

Some students’ grade point averages will look a little different this school year as the district chose to include dual-credit courses for the class of 2030 with a 6.0 scale.

Under the new policy, dual-credit courses move up from Tier 2 to Tier 3. The tiers will then be:
  • Tier 1 is a 5.0 and includes on-level courses.
  • Tier 2 is a 5.5 and includes advanced courses, career and technical education courses, independent study and mentorship, and academic decathlon.
  • Tier 3 is a 6.0 and includes AP, International Baccalaureate and dual-credit courses.
