The overview
The supplies will go to economically disadvantaged students, according to a district news release. The district hopes to receive 6,000 school supply kits to distribute across its 77 campuses, the release stated.
Community members can purchase elementary or middle school supplies, high school supplies, or a backpack for students. Supplies will be shipped directly to the campuses to be given to the students in need.
“We hope these kits will provide a reassuring boost at the beginning of the school year to our economically disadvantaged families,” Community Relations Director Ashley Sine said in the release. “We have an incredible community, and I’m hopeful we can reach our goal by July 1 so that kids can have them before school starts.”
Some context
