During a May 8 meeting, Frisco ISD’s board of trustees extended Superintendent Mike Waldrip’s contract and approved contracts for several other positions across the district.

The details

Waldrip’s new contract will take effect July 1 and end June 30, 2026. He will receive $348,000 a year as an annual base salary, according to the contract. Waldrip’s previous contract ran through June 2025 and paid the same annual salary.

The background

The board of trustees named Waldrip as the lone finalist for Frisco ISD’s superintendent position in 2017. He previously worked as Coppell ISD’s superintendent from 2014 to 2017. Waldrip has a master’s degree and doctorate in educational administration, according to the district.

Since coming to FISD in 2002, Waldrip has served in several positions, including principal of Liberty High School and principal of Clark Middle School, according to the district’s website.

The board of trustees also extended the contract for Internal Audit Director Andrew Groover, according to the agenda. The board also approved contracts for the following personnel positions, set to take effect in the next school year:

  • Director of community relations and Frisco Education Foundation
  • Principal of Heritage High School
  • Principal of Pink Elementary School
