The new parking garage in the Rail District is now open.
The parking garage is part of a more than $80 million redevelopment project, which included reconstructing Main Street, Elm Street and developing the Fourth Street Plaza.
The details
Construction downtown started in July 2024 and is nearing completion later this year. The Fourth Street Plaza will be the last piece of the project, which is expected to be completed in August.
- July 2024: Main Street construction began
- September 2024: Fourth Street Plaza construction began
- February 2025: Construction began on the public parking garage
- December 2025: Main Street reopened to traffic
- June 2026: Main Street was completed
- June 2026: Public parking garage opened
- August 2026: Fourth Street Plaza is anticipated for completion
