The city of Frisco laid out park and trail plans for The Link, a $1 billion mixed-use district near PGA Frisco.
During its Oct. 20 meeting, the Frisco City Council approved an agreement to guide developers’ park obligations and fees across the project’s construction.
What to know
Covering approximately 240 acres at the southeast corner of Legacy Drive and PGA Parkway, The Link is a mixed-use development plan designed for housing, offices, retail, entertainment and outdoor amenities near the PGA of America headquarters.
Previous reporting states The Link is projected to generate $10 million annually in property and sales tax revenue and create 8,000-10,000 jobs through 2 million-2.5 million square feet of office space.
The approved development agreement establishes how developers will meet Frisco’s parkland requirements and how the city will help offset some eligible costs on park and trail improvements and facility maintenance through park fee credits or refunds.
Developed by Stillwater Capital, the project’s first construction phase includes a 3.5-mile hike and bike trail. City documents state the interconnected facilities will serve residents of The Link along with nearby residents and visitors.
Zooming out
In 2021, City Council voted to rezone nearly 240 acres of land for The Link. The planned development could allow for up to 2,206 multifamily units and up to 500 single-family homes and cottages.
The Link will be developed in multiple phases and is set to feature direct access to Frisco’s hike-and-bike trail network.
