Frisco First Baptist Church, which opened in 1902, is undergoing a renovation that will include expanding the worship center seating capacity by adding riser seating, adding a 4,500 square-foot lobby for gatherings and building new playgrounds.

Phase 1 of the renovation is currently underway, which includes parking lot remediation and adding new playgrounds. The remaining projects, which are part of Phase 2, begins April 21 and are slated to take about a year to complete.

“We see more and more families with elementary aged kids and/or teens joining and attending our church,” Executive Pastor of Creativity Mike Gould said in an email. “We needed more space in which to invite people to our church family.”

According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, this project is estimated to cost $6.7 million.
