City begins discussing 2017-18 budget
Frisco City Council will hold a
budget workshop at 6 p.m. today at Frisco City Hall, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. Council will discuss the proposed budgets for the city, Frisco Economic Development Corp. and the Frisco Community Development Corp. The city will also discuss the tax rate, which is planned to be lowered from $0.45 to $0.4466.
New Cinemark Theatre, downtown development on Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission agenda
The commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss a number of new developments.
The commissioners will vote on a revised preliminary site plan for Frisco North at the southwest corner of US 380 and the Dallas North Tollway. The plans include a new Cinemark Theatre with an outdoor movie screen. The movie theater has been in the works for
some time.
The commission will also hold a public hearing for
Tower at the Rail, a downtown Frisco development that includes a two-story building, retail, restaurants and townhomes.
CodeLaunch 2017 takes place Wednesday
The annual CodeLaunch competition takes place at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Dr Pepper Arena, 2601 Avenue of the Stars. The annual competition, presented by
Code Authority and
Asset Panda, features entrepreneurs pitching their app ideas to a panel of judges. The winning pitch receives funding and other resources to create the app. General admission tickets can be purchased
