The city of Frisco and the Professional Golfers Association of America are partnering on a town hall for community members to learn more about the PGA headquarters.

The event will be held June 6 at 7 p.m. in the council chambers located at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd., Frisco. People can also tune in via livestream on the city's Facebook page or call 888-409-5380 to listen live.

Mayor Jeff Cheney along with representatives from PGA of America will give updates on the first championship to be held at the campus next spring, tickets, hospitality programs, volunteering and more, according to a Facebook post from the city.

The 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship will be held May 23-28, 2023, just after the PGA Frisco complex opens in April. PGA Frisco will include a 500-room Omni resort called Omni PGA Frisco Resort alongside several golf-themed retail stores and restaurants.

Jason Mengel, championship director of the 83rd KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, told Community Impact Newspaper in May that the event will be an opportunity for Frisco-based companies to entertain guests.

“We’re writing a championship history out here,” Mengel said in May. “I think anytime you're looking to start something from the ground up, certainly there's going to be inherent challenges along the way. But we've got a great team who's been in the market for years now building relationships.”
