Wicks’ new position now oversees a department that includes planning, permitting and code compliance, according to an Argyle news release.
He will be a part of the Development Review Committee, which reviews and makes comments on development applications coming into the city, according to the city’s website.
"Harrison Wick’s dedication and hard work have significantly contributed to the well-being of our town,” said Mayor Rick Bradford. “We are excited to see him excel as Argyle’s Community Development Director.”
The backstory
Wicks’ promotion was announced at the Dec. 16 town council meeting.
He spent the last three months of 2024 as the interim Community Development Director after the previous director, Nabila Nur, moved to Garland to fill a similar role, according to the news release.
Before that, Wicks was Argyle’s principal planner since July 2020, per the release. He moved to Argyle from Kent, Ohio where he was the assistant to the City Manager for three years.
