Argyle ISD approves 5 additional teaching positions for 2025-26 school year

The board of trustees unanimously approved additional staff at the June 16 meeting. In addition, the district will hire another diagnostician and full-time police officer with a K-9 unit.

AISD will spend $546,775 on additional staff for the 2025-26 school year, including:
  • The five teaching positions will cost $340,000 annually and will come from the district’s maintenance and operations budget.
  • The full-time police officer will cost $86,775 annually, and an additional $120,000 in startup costs. Both amounts will come from the maintenance and operations budget.
The diagnostician position will cost $68,000 and will be federally funded.

AISD anticipates to serve over 11,000 students by 2033-24, nearly double its current student population, according to previous reporting. These additional positions will help the district keep up with increasing enrollment.

Lewisville ISD approves 3% raises for staff members for 2025-26 school year

LISD staff presented a compensation package that included a 3% raise from the midpoint for all staff and an increase in substitute teachers' pay rates for the 2025-26 school year. Substitute teachers' pay will see an average increase of about $7, from $128.57 to $135.71, depending on degree and/or certifications.

However, the raises for staff members will take a hit due to an increase in health insurance costs. Teachers in years one and two, left out of House Bill 2, will receive a $2,074 raise. Due to the medical insurance going up $51 a month, they would see a net increase of $1,462 on their salaries.

The projects funded through the 2023 bond included:

  • Lewisville High School scene shop addition and band lot renovations
  • Lewisville High School Harmon black box theater conversion
  • Hebron High School traffic signal
In addition, the board of trustees approved the high school turf baseball and softball fields renovations, which will be funded through the 2024 bond.
