Transportation Updates

1. US 75 construction

The area’s major north-south thoroughfare continues to undergo construction as crews work to resolve a temporary bottleneck. The project will add a fourth lane in each direction through Allen and Fairview, bringing that portion of the highway in line with neighboring sections of the corridor. Crews are also adding new entrance and exit ramps to improve safety and prevent vehicle backups from traffic lights onto highway lanes.

Timeline: scheduled for completion in spring 2017
Cost: $49 million
Funding sources: Texas Department of Transportation

The phase of the Ridgeview Drive extension between Alma Drive and Stacy Road in Allen is open. The second phase of the Ridgeview Drive extension, from Watters Road to Chelsea Boulevard, will be under construction in 2017-18 after Allen City Council approved a $484,550 design contract
