pln-09-16-12-2 Work to repair spots along 15th Street in downtown Plano has begun.[/caption]

1. Downtown brick pavers and pavement repairs

Drivers can expect daytime lane closures downtown for spot brick repairs. The repairs are along 15th Street from I to Municipal avenues. Major intersections affected include 14th Street and K Avenue and 15th Street and Municipal Avenue. Construction will work around downtown events.

2. US 75/Legacy Drive frontage road improvements

The southbound US 75 exit ramp to Legacy Road has been closed since Aug. 27 and will remain closed until mid-October to reconstruct the ramp farther south. Drivers will need to use the Spring Creek Parkway exit ramp to access southbound US 75. Lane closures along the northbound and southbound frontage roads and ramps will continue as needed for asphalt and paving work.

3. Custer Road improvements

Frisco has had ongoing construction on Custer Road, which was extended into Plano on Aug. 12. In Plano, the far left-turn lane at Custer Road and SH 121 will shift left, making the second left-turn lane an additional through lane. Once complete, the intersection will have a dedicated right lane, three through lanes and one left-turn lane. The median will be reduced in size to complete this project.

4. Tennyson Parkway overpass 

The northern part of Tennyson Parkway Bridge was demolished in June, and the southern part is expected to be demolished in the coming months. When construction begins, motorists can expect lane closures along the Dallas North Tollway near Tennyson Parkway.

5. Parker Road, Plano Parkway repairs

The city of Plano started a project in July to repair concrete along   Parker Road from Coit to Custer roads. Once these repairs are complete in January, crews will then begin a similar repair project along   Plano Parkway from Jupiter Road to Los Rios Boulevard. Two lanes in both directions will be closed from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily with one lane being closed 24 hours a day.

6. Independence Parkway repairs

The project to repair concrete along the roadway on Independence Parkway is on schedule. Lane closures will continue to take place from   Cross Bend to Parker roads and from 15th Street to Plano Parkway.
