Plano-based restaurant Taverna Rossa announced in January it was opening a second restaurant in Southlake in April.  The new restaurant will feature the same menu items and will have 30 beers on tap as well as feature live musical performances.

“We wanted to step out of our comfort zone. We had done a lot in the northwest quadrant of the [Dallas-Fort Worth] area,” said Shannon McCarthy, marketing coordinator for 33 Restaurant Group.

Visitors can enjoy monthly chef specials and local beers on tap. The restaurant began hosting beer and wine dinners as well as whiskey tasting events. A beer dinner is scheduled for Feb. 17.
