The American Heart Association recently recognized Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton for their advanced care of patients with heart attacks, strokes and diabetes, according to a press release.

What happened

The recognition for heart attack care was based on achievement in the Get With The Guidelines - Coronary Artery Disease program, which focuses on both ST-elevation myocardial infarction and non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, per the press release.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton earned STEMI recognition along with several other area hospitals.

“Awards signal to the community that we as an organization meet high standards of care, safety and service excellence,” said Stephanie Sandmann Adams, Heart and Vascular Service Line director, in an email. “They validate the team's hard work and reinforce our commitment to the community."
