NTT Data has expanded its global cybersecurity presence with a new facility in Plano.
The company’s new Cyber Defense Center opened Oct. 9 and was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
What to know
The Plano facility is part of NTT Data’s global network of 20 cyber defense centers and 7,500 cybersecurity professionals, Chief Marketing Officer Mona Charif said. NTT Data’s cybersecurity operations combine AI-powered capabilities, global threat intelligence and human expertise to detect and respond to cyber threats, according to a news release.
“Together, they give our clients something that becomes more and more important every day: Intelligence and global scale that's backed by local expertise,” Charif said.
Additionally, the Cyber Defense Center in Plano is an expansion of NTT Data’s footprint in the city. NTT Data moved its North American headquarters to Plano in 2017.
“The opening of NTT Data Cyber Defense Center is an important milestone for our community, and a testament to the talent, investment and collaboration that continue to drive North Texas forward,” Plano Mayor John Muns said. “We're delighted to welcome this investment and further strengthen and position as a destination for innovation and growth.”
What they’re saying
Tony Sauerhoff, executive director of the Texas Department of Information Resources and the state’s chief information officer, said partnerships with the private sector, such as NTT Data, help protect state services including health and driver’s license renewals.
“Bringing specialized expertise and threat intelligence technology and operational capabilities like NTT [Data] brings are just things that our state and our 6,000-plus independent local government entities across Texas just can't all do on their own,” Sauerhoff said.
