Liberty Mutual has purchased its previously-leased regional office building from the developer for Legacy West, and is expected to begin operating out of the space in November.

Liberty Mutual purchased the building from commercial real estate group KDC, according to Collin County deed records filed June 5. Liberty Mutual is not disclosing the sale price, company spokesperson Adrianne Kaufmann said in an email to Community Impact Newspaper.

The building, located southwest of the Dallas North Tollway and Sam Rayburn Tollway, will peak at 19 stories tall and cover nearly one million square feet. The latest edition to Plano's rapidly expanding Legacy West development is expected to be fully complete by mid-2018.

The global insurance firm's headquarters will remain in Boston.

"The Plano campus will be one of our many U.S. office locations," Kaufmann said.

Liberty Mutual had been leasing the property from KDC, the same developer behind Toyota’s North American headquarters and the JPMorgan Chase building at Legacy West.

Kaufmann said Liberty Mutual will be taking full advantage of its new office, and therefore will not be leasing out the space to other tenants.
