Denton County held a groundbreaking ceremony March 22 for its new government center at the southwest corner of Lebanon Road and FM 423 in Frisco.

The 24,000-square-foot facility is slated to open by April 2017.

It will house the county clerk’s office, the justice of the peace, the county constable’s office and the county tax office. It will also include adult and juvenile probation and an office for the state representative.

“We recognize that the citizens and residents of Celina, Prosper, Frisco, Little Elm, they’re all a part of the county, and they’re valuable to our community,” said Hugh Coleman, Denton County commissioner, Precinct 1. “We stand here ready to provide them with resources and services that they paid for with their tax dollars.”
