During a regular meeting of the Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission on Oct. 27, the commission approved several items including a specific use permit for a child care center. The center will be located on the south side of Rolater Road west of Independent Parkway within a development that includes a medical office building, five retail/restaurant buildings, one convenience store with gas pumps and a carwash. The commission also approved a preliminary site plan for the development. Commissioner Robert Cox said there have been issues in the past with child care centers backing into neighborhoods and causing noise issues. He said he liked that the child care center’s playground area faced away from the nearby neighborhood preventing any future problems. The commission also approved a request to rezone 62.4 acres of property on the southeast corner of Hutson Drive and Preston Road to make way for commercial development along with patio homes.
