The local non-profit organization helps adults with disabilities, such as Down syndrome, Asperger’s syndrome and autism. Money raised will go toward the organization's educational programs that help adults with disabilities, said Michael Thomas, My Possibilities executive director. “We have to fundraise a third of our operating budget so this helps us to continue what we do,” Thomas said. “Some people just come and enjoy the event. It’s not a requirement to come and run.” Registration includes a five-piece Santa suit for participants to wear during the 5K or one-mile walk. Refreshments and snacks will be available for purchase and the Jordan Kahn Music Company will provide the live entertainment. Children can play at Santa's Playground or have their photo taken with St. Nick himself during the event. In addition to the run winners, prizes for Best Sleigh, Best Dressed Pet and Best Dressed Santa will also be awarded. Participants are also asked to bring an unwrapped toy for My Possibilities' Toys for Tots drive. The festival activities start at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K run at 9 a.m. and the one-mile walk at 9:15 a.m. The activities will go on until noon. For more information, visit www.mypossibilities.org.
