1. Gillett Commercial to bring 109,000 square feet of office, flex space to Allen
A development that includes over 100,000 square feet of office and flex space is coming soon to Allen.
Real estate development firm Gillett Commercial purchased 6.64 acres of land located along US 75 from the Allen Economic Development Corp. for a 109,000-square-foot project named Allen Place, according to a June 8 news release.
The project is expected to break ground this year and construction is expected to be completed in fall 2027, the release states. Allen Place will be located along US 75, between McDermott Drive and Bethany Drive. The office and flex space will be available for sale and for lease, per the release.
2. Golf simulation business proposed on Bethany Drive in Allen
A business owner is seeking approval from the city of Allen for a zoning change request for a golf simulation business on Bethany Drive.
Allen’s Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of a specific use permit to allow Dynamite Performance Golf to lease space at 105 W. Bethany Drive, Ste. 130, Allen.
Dynamite Performance Golf is a golf simulation business that uses a high-speed 3D motion capture system to help members improve their golf technique, per its website. The proposed business will occupy approximately 6,500 square feet of an approximately 253,418-square-foot building, Senior Planner Matt Bechtlufft said.
3. Allen ISD schedules public hearing, consideration of $226M school year budget
Allen ISD is holding a public hearing before district leaders consider adoption of the 2026-27 school year budget in June.
The public hearing and consideration of approval are scheduled for Allen ISD’s June 15 board of trustees meeting, according to a meeting agenda. The proposed budget, which has been posted to Allen ISD’s website, projects $220.9 million in revenue and $226.2 million in expenses as part of its general fund.
District officials are currently projecting a shortfall of $3.8 million within the general fund. However, they anticipate adding a “comparable amount” into the district’s fund balance at the end of the current year.
4. Construction progresses, March 2027 opening slated for Allen PD’s $97.1M HQ
Construction is progressing at the Allen Police Department’s new headquarters.
The Allen Police Department’s new $97.1 million headquarters is on track to be completed in March 2027, Public Information Officer Alexus Birmingham said.
The Core Construction Services team is close to completing the roof, exterior windows and waterproofing the building, Birmingham said.
Interior sheetrock is almost complete and wall tile is being installed in areas of the main building, she said. The construction team is also currently running data cabling in the structure.
5. Bravo Park to celebrate grand opening in Allen this June
A grand opening celebration for Bravo Park in Allen is planned for late June.
Billingsley Co. is hosting a grand opening celebration for Allen’s newest park from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 20 at 785 Bravo Park Drive, according to a company news release.
The Bravo Park grand opening event will include a ribbon-cutting, food trucks, a DJ, lawn games, pickleball, live entertainment and more, the release states. In addition, the first 200 guests will receive a free burger, the city of Allen’s website states.
