Community Impact Newspaper Founder John Garrett on Thursday was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the Ethics in Business and Community Awards.
Susan McDowell, executive director of Lifeworks, also received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Ethics in Business & Community Awards were established in 2002 and honor organizations and businesses that have high ethical standards. The awards are organized by
RecognizeGood.
Garrett, who founded the company in 2005, has grown Community Impact to 22 newspapers covering 34 communities and is supported by more than 180 employees. With a total mailed circulation reaching more than 1.7 million, more residents receive a
Community Impact Newspaper edition than any other publication in Texas.
