Frisco is America's fastest-growing large city, according to U.S. Census stats released late Wednesday. The recognition follows a consistent trend of cities Community Impact Newspaper covers topping this list. Each year the Census releases population estimates and ranks cities larger than 50,000 population by year-over-year percentage increase. The fastest-growing city each year since 2011-12 has hailed from Texas and been a market served by Community Impact Newspaper. Here are the list-toppers during that span: 2011-12: San Marcos 2012-13: San Marcos 2013-14: San Marcos 2014-15: Georgetown 2015-16: Conroe 2016-17: Frisco New Braunfels—where we launched a new edition in late 2017—and Pflugerville placed second and third, respectively, in the latest rankings. Other Community Impact Newspaper cities to make the top 15 this year include Georgetown—No. 6, McKinney—No. 9, Flower Mound—No. 11—and Cedar Park—No. 13.
