Willis ISD holds preliminary budget discussion ahead of upcoming 2025-26 fiscal year

“I have never opened a secondary school in a district I’ve been in. A secondary campus is a different animal when it comes to the budget and we are currently reviewing personnel for transfers or who are going to be new,” Matej said.

The breakdown

The 2025-26 fiscal year expenditures so far include:

• Total: $90,209,045
  • Salaries: $74.64 million
  • Operating expenses: $15.56 million
• Calfee Middle School
  • Salaries: $3.59 million
  • Operating expenses: $622,406

The next Willis ISD meeting will be held April 16 at 5:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Sharon Hill Jennette Administration Building at 612 N. Campbell St. in Willis.
