Upcoming projects
Centerpoint Road overpass
Project: Hays County will build an overpass over the Union Pacific Railroad crossing on Centerpoint Road. Project plans outline an overpass over the railroad with two lanes going in each direction, a widened roadway with a median and shoulders and shared-use paths on both sides, according to a news release.
Update: The county was awarded over $39 million in federal grant funding for the project, which will cover 80% of the cost. The process of acquiring right-of-way land and property rights and completing the final design is underway.

Parkway Drive
Project: The Pflugerville road will be reconstructed with pavement, curb, drainage, sidewalk and streetlight improvements.
Update: At its Aug. 25 meeting, City Council approved the construction contract with Chasco Constructors for $3.1 million. Construction is set to begin in mid September.

MoPac South expansion
Project: The Austin project includes added express lanes from Cesar Chavez Street to Slaughter Lane alongside shared-use paths, according to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority.
Update: The cost for the project increased more than $400 million, per documents from a CTRMA board of directors meeting presentation in July.

Ongoing projects
Red Bud Lane North widening
Project: The Round Rock project includes upgrading an existing two-lane road to a four-lane divided roadway with intersection and pedestrian improvements.
Update: Ongoing weather challenges have had minor impacts on the project’s schedule, but the contractor is working to make up time and completion is still expected on schedule.

- Funding sources: developer contributions, Type B sales tax revenue, Round Rock certificate of obligation bonds
Toro Grande Boulevard roadway improvements
Project: Work is underway to improve and extend Toro Grande Boulevard in Cedar Park. The north side will receive intersection improvements, turn lanes and pedestrian infrastructure, while the south will enhance connectivity between Whitestone Boulevard, New Hope Drive and Parmer Lane.
Update: The city broke ground in November. Construction is progressing on roadway widening, utilities and drainage across multiple segments.

- Cost: $38.1 million
- Funding source: 2015 and 2022 Cedar Park bond programs; Williamson County
Middle Creek Drive rehabilitation
Project: The Buda project will reconstruct the roadway to improve groundwater and irrigation system infiltration and pavement condition through crack sealing, reconstruction and a thin mill and overlay.
Update: Substantial completion on the project was reached in mid-August, and final asphalt paving has begun.
