Westbound lane of Cesar Chavez Street closes as water levels continue to rise

As water levels remain high along the Colorado River, the city of Austin has shut down one lane of westbound traffic on Cesar Chavez Street ahead of B.R. Reynolds Drive.

Closures remain in the city for the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail, the Barton Creek Greenbelt, Barton Springs Pool, the Colorado River downstream of Longhorn Dam, Red Bud Isle, Lake Austin, Lake Travis and all creeks and streams.

The Lower Colorado River Authority has announced it will not need to open additional floodgates at Mansfield Dam on Thursday, but the LCRA did not rule out opening up to four additional gates over the next few days.

Additional flood information is available at www.ATXFloods.com and the LCRA’s flood operations report.
