Bird Junction sculpture unveiling

The Bastrop Cultural Arts Commission will unveil its newest bird sculpture by artist Robin Luck. In honor of Bastrop's Texas-Certified Bird Community—which indicates Bastrop meets a set of standards that actively support bird conservation and habitat awareness—the commission is filling Chestnut Street leading to downtown Bastrop with a public-art initiative focused on large sculptures of local birds made by area artists.Willy Russell’s “Blood Brothers”

Texas Fallen Project’s 9/11 Memorial


The community is invited to Flag Plaza at Yonders Point in Settlers Park to view a 9/11 Memorial. The Texas Fallen Project will place 4,000 American flags at the park, 2,977 of which will be for the lives lost on 9/11. The remaining 1,023 flags will represent Texans lost since then.K-9 Kerplunk

Georgetown Parks and Recreation will host a dog pool party for pets and owners to celebrate the end of summer. The event will have three time slots to accommodate dogs of various sizes. Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and leashed when not in the water.Science Fun for Everyone

Workforce Solutions Rural Capitol Area child care services will host a science-forward event with various experiments aimed to stimulate children’s curiosity. Participants can expect to explore chemical reactions and engage with art, math and science through hands-on activities.Jacob’s Well guided tours

Hays County Parks Department staff will lead the one-hour hikes to Jacob’s Well spring while talking about the area.Art in the Park


Young community members can enjoy crafting nature-inspired art at the free community event hosted by Austin Parks Foundation and nonprofit Painting Pandas.2025 CrossGames

The Hobby Shop is hosting the 2025 CrossGames for remote-control car drift racers. The competition takes place on Sept. 6, and the meet and greet takes place on Sept. 7. Registration includes competition entry, buzz break tires and a commemorative shirt. The event features drivers Ryo Ishii and Junta Shiroi, with judge Atsushi Ito.Back To School Rotary Rodeo 2025

Rain or shine, attendees can expect vendors, live music, stick-horse barrel races, face painting and more. All funds raised will benefit the Dripping Springs High School Scholarship Fund and Rotary Club of Dripping Springs.Swiftie Cookie Decorating Class

Penny Royal Bakery will host a Taylor Swift-themed cookie decorating class at Erin Condren at Domain Northside. All cookies will be prebaked and icing premade. Participants will be taught how to decorate six scratch-made cookies. Cookies can be made with gluten-free flour for an additional $8 fee. All ages and skill levels are welcome for the 1-3 p.m. class and there will be a second class for ages 15 and up from 4:30-6:30 p.m. with a mimosa bar.

Goat Cuddles and Coffee


The Hive’s backyard will be set up for baby goats ready to cuddle and pose for pictures with participants. Adult tickets include admission to the event and a coffee of the attendee’s choice.Full Moon Yoga and Sound

Join Flow Yoga in commemoration of the full moon, as participants are invited to release and reset mind and body. All skill levels are welcome, and attendees can expect restorative yoga, guided meditation and sound healing. Preregistration for the event is recommended due to demand.
