On July 23, Austin Public Health reported 243 new COVID-19 cases in Travis County and 56 new hospitalizations related to the virus in the Austin Metropolitan Area. Local coronavirus risk remains at Stage 4, down slightly from a spike in hospitalizations earlier in July that brought the county close to Stage 5, the highest level of risk.

Travis County is approaching 19,000 confirmed cases over the course of the pandemic, with 18,939 cases so far. 15,852 of those individuals are estimated to have recovered. 229 have died, including 7 in the past day.
