Total coronavirus cases in Travis County increase to 1,591, with 44 deaths

Travis County coronavirus cases reached 1,591 on April 29, and county and city of Austin health officials confirmed a new coronavirus-related death.

Travis County now accounts for 44 of the 743 total coronavirus deaths in Texas, while there have been 60,843 deaths across the United States.


Austin public health is currently tracking 12 different coronavirus clusters at long-term care facilities in the area, five of which are in Northwest Austin, six are in Southwest Austin and one is in Southeast Austin.
