H-E-B will be closing its location at William Cannon Drive and South First Street on June 5, according to a news release by the company. The H-E-B—located at 600 William Cannon Drive, Austin—will close as the company prepares to open a new store about 2.5 miles away at the intersection of South Congress Avenue and Slaughter Lane on June 10.
According to H-E-B, it is closing the store because it is small in size compared to newer stores and does not have some of the amenities offered at other locations. H-E-B is offering free Capital Metro bus passes to individuals near the location who need assistance reaching the new store, and delivery is available for those 60 years old and up through Favor Delivery Senior Support, the release stated.
