Downtown Austin will experience street closures Nov. 9-12 due to events taking place during the weekend.

The details

The 28th annual Texas Book Festival will take place Nov. 11-12 near the Texas State Capitol. Surrounding streets will be closed from 6 a.m.-midnight beginning Nov. 9. The free event, which will last until 5 p.m. each day, will impact the following streets:
  • West 12th Street, West 13th Street and Colorado Street will be closed Nov. 9-12.
  • Congress Avenue from 8th Street to 11th Street will be closed Nov. 9-12.
  • Westbound East 11th Street will be closed from San Jacinto Boulevard to Brazos street Nov. 10-12.
  • West 11th Street from Lavaca Street to Brazos Street will be closed Nov. 10-12.
  • Colorado Street will be closed from 8th Street to 10th Street Nov. 10-12.
  • Tenth Street from Colorado Street to Brazos Street will be closed Nov. 10-12.
  • Ninth Street from Colorado Street to Brazos Street will be closed Nov. 10-12.
Austin’s annual Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony will take place Nov. 11, and street closures will take place between 5 a.m.-1 p.m. These will include:
  • Congress Avenue from Cesar Chavez Street to 11th Street
  • 11th Street to Trinity Street
  • San Jacinto Boulevard from 10th to 11th streets
