Austinites can expect several road closures and increased traffic near Zilker Park over the next two weekends as thousands of people attend the Austin City Limits Music Festival.

What you need to know

All roads surrounding Zilker Park will be closed Oct. 6-8 and Oct. 13-15, including parts of Barton Springs Road, Stratford Drive, Lou Neff Road and Toomey Road.

Get There ATX announced several ways to get to the festival besides driving.
  • A free shuttle will take festivalgoers from Republic Square downtown to the main entrance.
  • Capital Metro riders can either take the bus to Republic Square and hop on the free shuttle from there, or exit at South Lamar Boulevard and Barton Springs Road and walk half a mile to the festival.
  • Pedestrians and cyclists can take the Butler Hike & Bike trail by crossing the MoPac Pedestrian Bridge and walking to the Lady Bird entrance.
  • Rideshare drop-off points are located at South Lamar Boulevard, MoPac Frontage Road and Veterans Drive.
