Memorial Day BBQ
Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery will hold its annual Memorial Day barbecue and wreath laying ceremony to honor fallen veterans. After the ceremony, the celebrations will move to VFW Post 8787 for barbecue and comradeship.

Celebrate five years of operation with 12 Fox Beer Co. in Dripping Springs. The celebration coincides with Memorial Day weekend, with a specially brewed Festbier that the brewery will tap May 24. Hosted by Heroes Night Out, this event aims to bring together veterans, active-duty service members, first responders and their families ahead of Memorial Day. The Backyard Pitmasters aim to teach meat lovers how to operate a pit and smoke brisket. Attendees will learn about how to choose the right cut of meat, trimming techniques, rubs and prep, wood selection, smoke profiles, how to start and manage a pit chamber fire, timing, and proper slicing techniques. Following the slicing training, students will enjoy a barbecue dish prepared in class while sipping on a beer.

Sun City will hold a ceremony recognizing and honoring fallen veterans, with guest speaker retired Army General Vincent Brooks. Music for the event will be performed by the 36th Infantry Division Band of the Texas Army National Guard.
