A new Shake Shack, a new Mountain Mike’s Pizza and updates from several area food trucks are some of the recent business news in Georgetown.

El Hombre Tacos
Owner Eric Thornell has parked one of his catering trucks into a permanent location behind Rose & Dagger Coffee Co. Menu items include the Hombre Taco, with steak and melted cheese on a flour tortilla, as well as nachos and a variety of street tacos on corn tortillas.
This Round Rock bakery has opened a trailer in Georgetown, selling its San Francisco-style sourdough. The trailer offers artisan and sandwich loaves, a lunch menu with sandwiches and soup, sourdough starters, frozen goods to take and bake at home, and more.
The coffee shop opened a brick-and-mortar location inside a house after previously operating as a coffee truck in the home’s backyard. The shop offers handcrafted lattes, teas and refreshers. The shop also has for sale art, flowers and candles by local residents.
The nonprofit offers a day program at First Presbyterian Church for adults with intellectual disabilities. Founded by Cindy and Randy Smith, the nonprofit’s tagline is “where every ability finds purpose and joy.” Adults can participate in exercise programs and a variety of enrichment activities that include guest speakers and clubs.
The local cleaning service launched Aug. 2 by owner Lauren Stover. It primarily serves daycares, gyms, churches and commercial businesses, alongside offering residential move-in and move-out services, Stover said.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza
The locally owned dining franchise opened its newest location in Georgetown. The restaurant offers diners classic and specialty pizzas, as well as wings, salads and sandwiches. Rajeev Dewan, who owns two Mountain Mike’s locations in Manor and Cedar Park, owns and operates the new location on University Avenue. Mountain Mike's Pizza in Georgetown has six big-screen televisions, an outdoor patio, a kids arcade and a weekday lunch buffet, according to a company news release.
The Pilates studio opened a third location in Georgetown, with the other two located in Cedar Park and Leander. Classes include Strength & Sculpt, which increases strength and mobility with a full-body workout, and Stretch & Yoga. Several membership options are available.
The first Shake Shack location in Georgetown opened on University Avenue. The burger joint offers dine-in and drive-thru service, with a menu of burgers, fries and hand-spun shakes. On its opening day, Shake Shack Georgetown donated $1 for every sandwich sold to The Caring Place, a local nonprofit providing assistance to those in need.
Georgetown's first Texas Roadhouse location will open in November. The restaurant serves Southern-style country dinners, including hand-cut steaks, salmon, shrimp and ribs. It is famous for its complimentary fresh-baked bread with honey cinnamon butter.
Root Studio, a Lagree fitness center, will open in Georgetown in early October. According to the website, Root Studio is a “modern sanctuary for strength and intentional movement.” The 45-minute classes are done on a Megaformer machine. The exercise is low impact and high intensity, owner and founder Caroline Huber said.
The indoor golf center will feature private simulation suites powered by Trackman technology, which includes over 300 courses. The center will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Additionally, a membership is not required to play. There are three locations open and 71 locations in the development process.
The early development soccer center will open in The Junction corporate and entertainment park in November. Programs at KidsUnited are designed for children ages 18 months to 9 years old and focus on four pillars: brain, body, soccer and life skills. The program works with kids to develop cognitive and motor skills while “reinforcing essential life skills,” owners Frank and Brianna Cristofol said.
The dental practice will offer dentures and implants by Dr. Alexander Quante. The location, which is planning to open in late September or early October, will offer free consultations. Secure Dentures and Implants has locations in five states.
The bike shop is moving from the Williamsburg Village Shopping Center on Williams Drive to a stand-alone building on Morrow Street by San Gabriel Park and the Randy Morrow Trail. The business sells a variety of bicycles for adults and kids, and also offers repair services.

The food truck relocated from the Tasty Trails food truck park to The Grounds behind Rose & Dagger Coffee Co. Churros ATX sweet offerings include churros with a dulce de leche filling and ice cream. The truck also sells chicken and beef empanadas.
Wild Birds Unlimited in Georgetown is relocating in late September or early October, owner Christina Darlington said. Wild Birds Unlimited specializes in bird feed and supplies. Founded in 1981, the company now has over 300 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The new store will be larger and able to accommodate more inventory. It will also have a larger parking lot, Darlington said. The store is relocating from 1013 W. University Ave., Ste. 330, Georgetown.
The boutique massage studio hosted a grand reopening Sept. 17 following new owner Sidra Glass taking over Aug. 1. The studio offers several massage options as well as other add-ons, such as a hot stones enhancement and a cupping treatment. As part of the grand reopening, the studio is launching a membership program.
Pure Barre Georgetown celebrated a grand reopening Aug. 20 under new management. Pure Barre offers five types of group fitness classes focused on strengthening and toning. The classes incorporate yoga, Pilates and ballet-inspired movement, with certified instructors leading the workouts. Leslie Dadidakis is the new owner of the Georgetown Pure Barre, according to the chamber. Dalia and Sam Inman first opened the studio in 2023, according to previous reporting.
Formerly located on Eighth Street in downtown Georgetown, the salon specialized in hair services including coloring and extensions. Owner Kelsie Gibson announced the salon's closing on the company's Instagram account. Root Studio, a Lagree fitness center, will open in the salon's former space on the square.

The taco spot closed its Georgetown location in September and will be moving to Clara’s Day Dive in South Austin. El Grandpa cooks barbacoa in the style of the Mexican state of Hidalgo. An Instagram post announcing the closure also states “don’t worry Georgetown we will be back!”
